About Norcross

“I can’t believe how naive I was to think things could ever be so simple. If this is the one chance that really matters, don’t let me f*ck this up. If you had told me about all this when I was fifteen, I never would have believed it.”

Tonight We’re Gonna Give It 35% by Against Me!

I was originally born in Boston, Massachusetts, but I moved to Palm Harbor, Florida with my family when I was six. Growing up, I did what every other kid did: I played football for six years, swam competitively for fifteen years, and breezed through school with good grades. After graduation, having no idea what to do next, I took a position with a local financial firm that I had previously interned with. Three years later, I was broke and burnt out from tackling too much at once. I’m still getting a handle on what this “adulthood” thing means.

I secretly wish I were an NFL defensive coordinator

My name is Andrew Norcross, (we’ll just go with “Norcross” from now on, if that’s OK). I’m a WordPress developer, father, and overall regular geek-for-hire. I currently live in Tampa, Florida. I’m a dad, I’m divorced, and I make magic with all things WordPress. You can see my work here

I am an uber-geek, but have never taken a class

I started writing code when I was as young as ten, but soon girls and guitars took precedence. Years later, I graduated from St. Petersburg College with an Associates degree in Business Administration and began a career in Investments. Currently, I’m seeking my Bachelor’s degree in MIS at University of South Florida – St. Petersburg.

I have music playing nearly every waking moment in my life

I’m a geek in a punk rocker’s body. I listen to punk rock, get tattooed when finances allow, and enjoy a nice cigar. The unusual post titles are almost always songs that I like. While I may wear a tie now, I’m still a punk-rocker at heart.

I have an unhealthy amount of random trivia knowledge

My blog has expanded so that I can share my experiences, insights, and unique perspectives into today’s working world and life in general. Restless Like Me is meant to provide a semi-permanent point-in-time snapshot and manifestation of the various memes running around in my brain. As such, any thoughts and opinions expressed are subject to change.

I’m always open to comments, questions, and some old fashioned hate mail.

But always remember to have a sense of humor, and don’t take this thing called life too seriously. No one makes it out alive, anyway.

This is a personal weblog. The opinions expressed here represent my own and not those of my friends, family, or employer. In addition, my thoughts and opinions change from time to time…I consider this a necessary consequence of having an open mind. This weblog is intended to provide a semi-permanent point in time snapshot and manifestation of the various memes running around my brain, and as such any thoughts and opinions expressed within out-of-date posts may not the same, nor even similar, to those I may hold today.
